I am a painter, art historian and lecturer. I share my passion for History of Art by hosting lectures at The Painswick Arts Centre and other institutions in Gloucestershire. This knowledge informs my own work and sustains my creative life.

Creativity has always been there, through my parents love of cultural adventures, filling us with knowledge and a love of all things beautiful. I’ve always understood the importance of art and culture in society and have pursued it at every stage of my life.

I often paint using a single, large brush, letting the water and pigments flow together, watching the magic happen. The joy comes in the meditative quality of painting as much as the subject matter - the brush gliding over the paper and the purity of colour that I hope, somehow translates in the paintings.

The very act of creating something from nothing is always going to be a win.

I aim to abstract the landscape and capture the purity of colour and its natural elements - the wind, sun, mist and rain. The elements that make me feel alive, redress my fears or sadness, and fill up my soul with goodness. Seasons that provide a structure for our lives, footsteps that tread the same comforting paths or bravely find new ones.
