I often paint using a single, large brush, letting the water and pigments flow together, watching the magic happen.
The joy comes in the meditative quality of painting; the moment a drop of intense colour hits a white sheet of paper is one of pure visceral pleasure for me - the brush gliding over the paper and the purity of colour that I hope, somehow translates in the paintings.
Painting has always felt like a positive act, full of possibility - the very act of creating something from nothing is always going to be a win. I aim to capture the seasons that provide a structure for our lives, footsteps that tread the same comforting paths or bravely find new ones.
